Taylor Rose Designs has just completed an interior design makeover for an apartment in the city of Perth. We were commissioned to:
- Replace the flooring
- Renovate the wet areas
- New paint work and
- Replace window treatments and lighting.
The premises were currently occupied by a tenant and we had to adhere to the strata regulations.
We were not to furnish the apartment and had one month to complete the project, while working within the guidelines set out by the strata.
In the wet areas we replaced all the tiling in the laundry and bathroom with a grey floor tile and white wall tiles. The walls were tiled up to the ceiling for easy care maintenance and to give the areas a bigger sense of space.
- In the bathroom we replaced the basin and installed new fixtures.
- In the laundry we installed a new trough and tap fixtures.
- In the ensuite we completed the tiling to the ceiling, replaced the vanity and installed a new mirror.
- Plus, we fixed all the plumbing issues.
The flooring we replaced with a timber look vinyl which provides great acoustic properties within the product and adheres to building code standards.
The carpet in the bedrooms has a 50/50% composition, which passes the fire rating standards and is made up of 50% synthetic material and 50% wool.
The window treatments we installed are twin roller blinds – blockout and translucent. We chose the twin roller blinds so the apartment can have natural light during the day without the glare of the sun and the blockout for privacy at night as it overlooks the street.
We replaced all the lights throughout with LED oysters which are much more energy efficient and cost effective.
